Top Secret Project

I figured that since you might be seeing the characters from the Top Secret Project in next month’s writing meme, I would tell you a little bit about them, without giving the book away.

You already know a little about TSP.  If you were paying attention a few weeks back you know it has to do with memory and re-incarnation.  You see, I’ve always thought the idea of reincarnation was kind of cruel – you get to come back and do it all again, but you can’t remember anything from last time.  You can make the same mistakes over and over and over again and never know it.  That kind of sucks.  But as I’ve been thinking about what would happen if you could remember your past lives I’ve come to the realization that it would also kinda suck.  Imagine living multiple lives and always falling into the same traps because that is what is familiar.  You’d have the same job, the same husband or wife, the same friends, Forever.  Getting a divorce after a few lifetimes instead of a few years would be awful.  And how could you ever meet anyone new when everyone else has already remembered their friends and lovers and gotten back together with them?

So yes, TSP deals with those ideas.  Right now it’s got a simple cast of three characters: Neona, Sean, and Alicia, who are all newly-thirteen and about to take off on an adventure to the Lethia River.  And that’s all I can tell you for now.
