Custom of the Week: Kailani Hoofspen

Welcome back to Custom of the Week, Aledans! I hope you all had an awesome Trina’s Day and you’re recovering this morning. I know I said in yesterday’s FEF that I’d be posting twice, but I got to celebrating and it just never happened :P But no fear – CotW is back in full force this week with a very special custom.

You might remember Kail from this post (Razz is doing much better now, if you were wondering). She’s the daughter of Bella and Canto, and I’ve known her for over ten years. I used to play her at a pony RP, and one year for Christmas I painted tiny pony ornaments of everyone’s main character and sent them as presents. I didn’t expect anything in return, but Jo – or as I know her, Whispering Wind at C03 (or Nightbow at Eventide) – sent me Kail. She made it by hand, and it’s gorgeous! It also came with lots of yummy Swedish candy and a couple sketches of Kail :)

Custom of the Week: I Love Lucy

If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll remember that I first started writing in RPG’s (the first was actually a My Little Pony RPG). I met today’s customizer in one of these games and she’s become a good friend. So when she emailed me about featuring one of her customs, of course I said yes! And this is such an iconic custom.

Custom of the Week: Willy Wonka and his Oompa Loompa

One of my favorite films growing up was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. What kid wouldn’t love the idea of finding a golden ticket in a candy bar and using it to get into the most secretive candy factory in the world? Even better, it doesn’t look like a factory inside – it looks like a sugar funhouse, and everything is edible! As a kid it would have been a dream come true (as an adult I’m allergic to sugar, so it would be a nightmare :P ).

Which is why, when I saw today’s custom, completely with a tiny oompa loompa, I knew I had to feature it.

The tiny oompa loompa is so adorable! And I love the “W” charm around Willy Wonka’s neck. You can find more photos of the base, which includes “edible” grass and a chocolate river at the customizer’s DeviantArt gallery.

Custom of the Week: Eeyore

I have to say, with all the rain we’ve been getting lately today’s custom is just perfect. I’ve always been more of a Tigger fan myself (if you’ve met me, you understand my energy level :P ), but for those days that are grey, when you just want to curl up with a good book and forget your life for a little while, today’s custom is perfect. I don’t think he really needs an introduction, but just in case, here’s Eeyore, from Whinny the Pooh.

Custom of the Week: Deathwing

You may remember back when I posted about my WoW addiction (I have since cancelled my account, because I don’t have time to play with all this for!serious writing/editing going on), but I remember seeing the destruction that Deathwing caused in Stormwind, and being sad the last time I logged on (November, maybe?) and they were still working on rebuilding.

I also remember watching Hub’s toon get barbecued by Stormwind as he ran around one of the ugly areas I never played in (the all-red area between Stormwind and Ironforge). He got an achievement for it, which I thought was silly because all he did was die without ever seeing what killed him.

You know, because I’ve NEVER died without seeing what killed me….

In any case, when I saw today’s custom, I knew I had to feature him. Too many memories not to :)

Custom of the Week: Queen Amidala

Happy Monday, Aledans! Most of the country is buried under snow and ice today, but here in sunny SC the azaleas are beginning to bloom (and about a month early!). Crazy flowers.

Today’s custom doesn’t need much introduction, since it’s from one of the biggest movies franchises of all time. In my first dorm room in college my hall-mates called me Ani, because I was so innocent but they just knew there was evil lurking underneath. I won’t say they were right, but I’m sure my characters would agree. And since I’m apparently little Anakin, when I saw today’s pony I knew I had to feature her!

Custom of the Week: Bender

Hello Aledans! This post is going up a day late because we spent the weekend celebrating Hops, who spent Friday night giving another dog a blood transfusion (I’m so proud of her!). She spent the rest of the weekend sleeping on the couch, chewing on her new bone, and running around the field behind our neighborhood. She knows she did good, and she was like a puppy again! So cute.
