Hops and Snow

So, it’s been about a month since my last post, huh?  I didn’t forget about you – really, I didn’t – but I’ve been busy learning a new test at work, which always turns my brain into over-saturated mush.  Much like my front yard this afternoon.  You see, I live in Charleston, SC and it never snows here.  Never.  The last time they had a major snow-sticking-to-the-ground snowstorm here was in 1989 (from what I hear – I was in Michigan at the time).  I’ve seen flurries once in the five and a half years that I’ve lived down here, and it melted as soon as it touched anything.  So yesterday when the weather channel was throwing fits over a winter storm warning I didn’t pay it much attention.

It started to sleet when I was driving into my neighborhood, and I figured that was about all we were going to get.  About an hour later I heard voices outside – who plays in the sleet? – and looked outside.  It was snowing!  Real, honest-to-goodness snow that was piling up on everything it touched!  So I took my dog outside to play in the snow, and she had no idea what it was.  And I think – based on the video below – she really enjoyed it.  So to make up for my lack of posting lately, I give you: Hops and Snow.

And I already have a sticky chosen for tomorrow.  It has nothing to do with snow, but it will get me back on schedule at least.
