Sticky #23

If you know me at all, or have read back at all in this blog, you will know that I cannot stay away from Fie Eoin for too long.  Even the day before NaNo started this past year and I should have been working on Phooka Tales I was instead storylining Fie Eoin.  Most of the Kindra scenes have been written, and re-written, and trashed, and dug back out of the trash, and polished until they shine and I’m happy.  But the Kaye scenes are still floating around in the ether of my mind, because Kaye isn’t an in-your-face type of character like Kindra is.  She’s an important part of the story though, so I had to finally let her out to say her piece, and this happens to be a small part of it.

I don’t believe I have mentioned Ian Odion here before, but he is the founder of Fie Eoin (the Village of Eoin/Ian if you will recall from Sticky #13) and Kaye and Kindra’s ancestor.  In the final book of the series (whenever I get to that point) I will be going back in time to Ian and the founding of Fie Eoin.  As it turns out, he’s from Gaerlom, and happened to make a little mark on the wall in the cove that Timin takes Kaye to visit.  The back of the sticky continues with this scene, and Timin shows Kaye the mark on the wall of the cliff: a horse and a spear.  Kaye doesn’t connect the mark on the cliff to the Ian of her line, but that is what the fourth book is for!
