A Very Short Update

Happy Thursday, Aledan Merfolk! After four days of posts this week I bet you’re kind of sick of me, huh? That’s ok, today’s going to be a quick update, I promise.

Enfield’s plot is starting to come along. Usually I storyline straight through a book and plot out the big moments before I start writing it, but Enfield’s has been unexpectedly stubborn. I’m starting to get a feel for what happens, especially the big moments, so hopefully NaNo won’t be a giant crash-and-burn this year. But hey, if it is, at least I crash-and-burn with tons of other people 😉

I finished SHARPE’S TIGER and HALF A KING and started reading DANGEROUS WOMEN and listening to HALF THE WORLD (even though I’m not a big fan of Yarvi – I wish Sumael would come back!). I’m also working on the CP project from last week, so I’m keeping plenty busy even though I’m not actively writing at the moment.

And last but not least: PonyFest15 has started if you missed the announcement! If you’ve written a book (original only, no fanfic) and want a chance to win a custom pony and lots of books, check out the PonyFest15 Announcement. It’s a ton of fun!

Have an excellent Halloween/Samhain, Aledans! I hope to see your PonyFest designs soon!

The ladies have started sleeping on top of the coop lately. And letting us pet them! I had no idea chickens were so soft.

  1. XD You should probably relocate them inside their coop at night. They’d be easy pickings for owls and possums on top. The dog is great, too!

I’m hoping to devote tomorrow to finishing up figuring out my NaNo plot. And then Saturday is going to be ‘break from writing’ day before our kick-off that night. Whee.

    1. Oh yeah, they fall asleep on the coop and then we put them inside once it’s dark out. Found out a couple nights ago that we HAVE to put Princess Mononoke in the coop first, then Ripley, otherwise all hell breaks loose between them 😛

Good luck in NaNo! I’ll be cheering you on when I come up for air ^_^

  2. I hope you get lots of writing done in November. I was thinking about our Twitter chat earlier. Every word written makes us winners, even if we don’t hit that magic 50k.

Our little flock has a definite order, too. One freaks out if she’s first or last. She has to go in the middle. LOL And, yes, they are amazingly soft!

    1. EXACTLY! Even if I don’t hit 50k, I still have more words than I currently have (which is zero :P)

That’s so funny about their pecking order (NOW I really understand that phrase! 😉 ). I tried to pet Ripley last night, and Mononoke, who is obviously the dominant one, pecked my hand! I don’t know if she was protecting Ripley, or she was jealous because she wanted more love, but it was adorable <3
