11. Who is your favorite character to write? Least favorite?
I’m pretty sure we discussed this on Day One. Rebecca is by far (well, ok, not far – Kindra’s pretty close) my favorite character to write. I’m not sure I have a least favorite. If I didn’t like writing someone I’d find a way to write them out of my story. Even my bad guys are fun to write – Pike especially. It’s really fun to be a bad guy.
Oh, I know. Bryant is my least favorite to write. He has become such a whiny little brat in the re-write of Fie Eoin that I’m really going to have to have a nice, long talk with him and ask him to dial it back a notch. Yes, life sucks, but pull up your big boy panties and deal with it buddy. Besides, you totally get the girl in the end. Well, sorta. Not totally. But for the most part she’s yours. You do have to share. Big boy panties, bud, put them on.
I really can’t think of any other characters that I don’t have some great fondness for. And I am fond of Bryant – he’s had a hell of a disappointing life so far – I’ve just got to cut a lot of his whining out of the final draft.
