19. Favorite minor that decided to shove himself into the spotlight and why!
I think I will have to say Monk on this one. Thomas “Monkey” Preston is Gar’s best friend in Fie Eoin, and although he didn’t even exist in the original first draft, he elbowed his way into the second draft and now I just love him. He’s a good compliment to Gar – always has his back as a good friend should, and is usually pretty level-headed although he doesn’t forgive quite as easily. Monk’s in line to be chief one day, so he’s basically the leader of their little group of friends (which includes Monk, Gar, Cougar, and Alligator/Al). His father, Petoskey, and Kindra’s father, Fennec, were best friends, and Monk is the one who first gave Kindra the name “Bride of Eoin”.
And as his name suggests, Monkey’s not opposed to a little playful fun.
